The Mission of Power of the Past is to preserve the traditions and methods of past farmers and their equipment; to promote public awareness of the vital role farming equipment played in earlier times; to preserve the history of the trucking industry and acknowledge similar interest in same era automobiles. It is our intention to pass on our knowledge to future generations; through the restoration of this equipment and through educational and entertaining exhibitions of this equipment and it’s uses.
We of “Power of the Past” enjoy getting together weekly on Wednesday nights at “Soil Supply” in Huntersville, NC. to work on an assortment of tractors, equipment, vehicles and the next “Angel Tractor”. Our meetings are held on the the 2nd Thursday each month at 7:30 PM. Membership dues are $30 a year.

The Angel Tractor
For the past few years our club has restored an old piece of iron for a special group of kids. They live in a very special place called “Holy Angels of Belmont, NC”. It’s a home for medically fragile and handicapped children. One of our members has a grandchild there and he brought them to our attention as kids that need extra care and love to live. Their greatest need was a therapy room of unique design to stimulate the children. So we introduced the First Angel tractor in 1997, it became a huge success story and every year since we have endeavored to help these loving kids less fortunate than ourselves.
We sell tickets for chances on the tractor and travel to many area shows with it. They are 1 for $1 and 6 for $5. Make checks payable to “Holy Angels”. Here is a list of the tractors and drawing winners. Anyone wanting tickets can call or write to:Power of the Past, P.O. Box 2244, Huntersville, NC 28070, or E-mail us, you need not be present to win and we can deliver the tractor to a winner in any of the 48 States. The drawing is at our Spring Show and is drawn by a resident of the home. Or better yet come see us! |
