EDGE+TA Branch #264, Tired Iron Collectors Club based in Corvallis, Montana, in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley, in beautiful western Montana, would like to nominate the Sperry’s for the Hall of Fame.
Darrel has presided as president of this local antique tractor club for many years donating his time and new shop space for our meetings. Without his commitment and enthusiasm to keep collecting, exhibiting and refurbishing old tractors and farm equipment, much of the valley’s history would be lost to father time.
Working alongside his father, Shayne has helped to grow our club through his wisdom and extensive blacksmithing skills. His imagination allows him to build anything metal from scratch including a modern style sled for our antique tractor pull at our local county fair. They coach new recruits who join the club while assisting other members with their own restorations. Shayne serves as our primary liaison between our club of 30 members and the EDGE+TA organization joining in 2023.
This team together, over the last 60 years, have accumulated a large array of over 30 antique tractors, implements, and hit and miss engines. Along with this, they have an impressive museum of toys, belt buckles, plates, knives, lanterns and pulleys as dedicated lovers of all things John Deere open to the public.
Without the combined efforts of all the Sperry’s, their dedication to agriculture and preservation, our club would not be as successful as it is today. We would like to encourage you to consider them for the Hall of Fame.
Sincere thanks,
TIRED IRON CLUB
