Richard “Dick” Hamp EDGETA Branch 3

Richard-Hamp

I would like to nominate Mr. Richard (Dick) Hamp to the National Hall of Fame.

Since our branch #3 was founded in 1978 Dick had been an active promoter of our branch and the national organization. He has restored many rare gas engines and has provided a wealth of help to all who have came to him with any question.

Dick displays his engines at a great many shows here in Northern California. He has often promoted the less popular shows in our area thus helping them to be a success. He has brought gas engines to America from European builders to demonstrate the different features and techniques of running and construction.

He and his wife Kay have hosted many foreign visitors who are collectors or simply are interested in early gas engine and tractor history. Just yesterday he brought over a man visiting from England to view my collection. His interests and contributions to our hobby are truly international.

Sincerely,  Bill Traill
